THE loss was on the cards!! No Indian team has ever continued a winning run or a "DREAM RUN" in the game of cricket since it's first world cup win in 1983!! Always there were many ups' and downs' and no Indian captain had ever produced a flawless tenure!!May be this is the turn of M.S.DHONI!!
This is true even in the wold cricket that no team can dominate for years together!!
AUSSIES could manage but had to face many challenges from SOUTH AFRICA,INDIA,PAK and all other countries with respect to the form of the teams' playing against them!!
Today Australia is on a slide down!! They couldn't even reach super8s in this WORLD CUP!! BAD DAYS FOR PUNTER TOO!!
COMING TO THE INDIAN decimal performance the lack of appilication and apetite to win were the major causes for this!! What caused this team which evolved in the last WORLD CUP T20 to lose it's apetite?????
Well the first reason is more and more number of matches played at different levels!!
Not just IPL but INDIA had a busy schedule and it still continues to be busy!! So with time players can lose their determination and fitness which cause these absurds!! We take a note of them only when we lose in a major tourne like this!!
The Second reason is the successful season that India had!! Indians were highly successful in all the formats at different venues except for a rare 20-20 series lose in NZ!! Naturally players were high on confidence and low on fitness!! Always sports demand high energy levels irrespective of which one u r playing and when it comes to International level the demand is even higher!! It's common that at the end of the season u see a highly successful team loosing big and some players to injuries!!AUSSIES could over-come this with a pool of talent and now INDIA needs to prove it!!
THE Third and very important reason is not having any important challenges in front of u r reining captain for a long time!! Always a good challenge will make u a better leader or expose your weakness!! If u don't face that for a long time then you are tend to think "EVERYTHING WORKS" !! But that is not the case!! A challenge will always be around the corner and u have to be always aware of it otherwise u get exposed like M.S.DHONI!! The match against ENGLAND was the best challenge in-front of him after many days and he took a wrong decision to counter it!!
NOW India needs to look ahead for it's future under the same leader!!
There is no need for a change in captain but definitely there is a need for change in attitude of the players and the captain to look at the situations differently and be well prepared for the real challenges ahead!!
