Three most inspirational telugu classics….

Glad to reach 100 posts with this one….

There are many telugu films which got inspired by these three films. They were first of their kind when they were made. The technical values, story, screen-play and direction of these films were extra-ordinary and inspiring.

INSPIRATIONAL CLASSIC:  A film which is not less than a master-piece and which can evoke 10 different ideas and inspire u to make your own version of it, can be categorized as an Inspirational classic.

Going by, my above definition or convention I explain why these three films are inspirational.

1)      పాతాళ భైరవి : A film made by genius director Sri K.V.Reddy garu, produced by two tasteful producers. This was the first full-fledged commercial folk-lore in telugu. There were few films made in the genre before, but no other film really looked like a film untill this one. They were stage dramas presented in-front of camera. This film had a perfect screen-play, good set of entertaining dialogues and the technical values still stand-out. The performances by the cast inspired many to imitate them and even the same cast had to repeat themselves for many other films. Marcus Bartley was at his very best in supporting this visual grander. Screen-play wise film has one of the best works by Pingali Nagendra Rao. Dialogues and music are still remembered.

After this film, who ever made a folk-lore film, they just concentrated on mixing all the values seen in this great classic, i.e., same drama, fights and music with different backgrounds and technicians. 

2) మాయాబజార్ : Once again a great work from the genius director Sri K.V.Reddy garu. Can u believe the story of this film and not taken from any of the Mahabharata books. Yet it looks like one. The extreme amount of care and think went into writing made us believe that this was a Mahabharata tale. Marcus Bartley did a great job again with the camera. The special effects created for this film are impossible to match for their realism even today with the help of many new techniques. Sri Pinjali Nagendra Rao got and should get accolades for writing dialogues, screen-play and all songs. Great work by all the technicians who were involved.

Many film-makers tried to repeat the magic but failed. But some were successful in making socio-dramas  using the same formula. 

3) సీతాకళ్యాణం:  This film was one of the great special effects film. At a stage, where high-end graphics were unimaginable, Bapu crafted a master-piece with the help of Cameraman, Ravikanth Nagayich for special effects. Film's story was very simple and was made for those special effects only. This film got international accolades and Bapu, gave a lecture about the work at a well known international university. Ramana, in ever famous Bapu-Ramana wrote the script and co-produced the film.  Still those effects are unimaginable.

 This film laid a path for many special effect oriented films today.

All the films mentioned, have good amount of special effects and technical values. Normally, social dramas have been made with a formula and those formulas were derived from these films only.
